Chinese Central SOE International Cooperation Forum held in Shanghai

State Grid delegation signed Import Cooperation Agreement with suppliers

On 6th November, the Chinese Central SOE International Cooperation Forum organized by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, was held in Shanghai during the China International Import Expo (CIIE). The State Grid trade delegation attended the Forum and signed an import cooperation agreement with ABB. In the afternoon of the same day, the company also held an Agreement Signing Ceremony, to sign various import cooperation agreements with other suppliers. Han Jun, Executive Vice President of State Grid attended the Forum as well and delivered a speech at the Agreement Signing Ceremony.

In his speech, Han Jun said that since its establishment, State Grid has always adhered to the opening up , to demonstrate mutually-beneficial win-win cooperation, and has established long-term partnerships with major equipment manufacturers worldwide. With the goal of building a world-class Intergrid enterprise with outstanding competitiveness, State Grid has been following the guidance of the central government on further opening-up, and have made positive attempts in many fields such as international tenders for major equipment. Seizing the opportunity of implementing the “Five DC and Five AC” UHV transmission projects which had been included into the National Development Plan, State Grid has been accelerating the construction of UHV grids, increasing its investment in building world-class urban power distribution networks and accelerating the development of clean energy, thereby creating more opportunities for international cooperation. He voiced the hope that all the partners will seize the opportunities of CIIE to further deepen cooperation, and leverage their own advantages on resources and technologies to promote the all-round development of technologies, equipment, management and brand-building; respond to the “Belt and Road” Initiative, promote grid connectivity and the energy transition to meet the power demand with clean and green alternatives; strengthen business cooperation, expand international trade and promote sustainable and steady growth of the global economy, making greater contributions to fostering a community with a shared future for mankind.

The State Grid trade delegation for CIIE was established in March 2018. During the past several months, it formulated a detailed work plan and established the internal work mechanism to ensure the smooth progress of related activities. After the opening of the Expo,the delegation visited CIIE to attend related events and seek trade opportunities, and held extensive communication with world-renowned electrical equipment manufacturers. At the CIIE, State Grid signed 15 Import Cooperation Agreements with 12 suppliers from 6 countries, for the import of high-end smart equipment for the construction of power grids. The signing of these agreements reflects the role of State Grid as a responsible central state-owned enterprise that is taking concrete measures to promote opening-up and development while ensuring strong cooperation for win-win benefits.
