In the afternoon of August 29th, SGCC set out 24 young cadres for electric companies in Tibet and Xinjiang.

Among the young cadres, 1 person will take the leading post in Tibet Electric Power Company, 7 persons under 45 years old will hold posts in Tibet and Xinjiang, and 6 persons under 40 years old will take temporary posts. It¡¯s the first time that SGCC open selected young cadres to go to the electric companies in Tibet and Xinjiang.

Tibet and Xinjiang are important energy bases in China. The potential hydropower Capacity of Tibet takes up 20.3% while coal resource of Tibet takes up 34.5% of the total volume in China. However, at present, generation capacity of Tibet and Xinjiang only takes up 1.3% while total economic quantity only takes up 1.6% of the total in the country. Mr. Li Zhenya, president of SGCC said that it very important for further fulfillment of develop-the-west strategy to select young cadres to go to Tibet and Sinkiang.

It is reported that SGCC will invest over ten billion RMB to develop electric power construction from Xining to Lhasa in order to coordinate with the implementation of "One-Ultra and Four-Larges" strategy (referring to ultra-high voltage power grid, large thermal power, large hydropower, large nuclear power and large renewable energy plants) to realize energy delivery from the west to the east in large scale. 

Since last year, SGCC has selected 43 cadres at section level and professionals to go to Tibet for temporary posts for one and half year, and 18 cadres from Tibet and Xinjiang to go to SGCC provincial companies in the eastern coast for half-year training.
