On August 28th, SASAC released the list of 40 central SOEs who won Grade A in operation achievement assessment for 2007. SGCC ranked the fourth for its excellent performance exceeding all indexes of yearly achievement assessment. Till now, SGCC has won Grade A for four consecutive years. 

In 2007, SGCC over-fulfilled all the yearly achievement assessment indexes, namely the total profit, net assets yield, current assets velocity and electricity sold volume stipulated with SASAC. It invested 213 billion yuan on grid construction, with commencement of 60,000km AC power lines (110kV and above) and 54,000km put into production; commencement of 270 million kVA substation capacity and 210 million kVA put into production. Total volume of electricity sold in the whole year was1974.2 billion KWh, a growth of15.5% year on year; income from major business exceeded one trillion yuan and income taxes exceeded one hundred billion yuan, reaching 114.2 billion yuan. 

In 2007, SGCC continued to build excellent quality, gain more profits and achieve remarkable results in various aspects. The corporation successfully accomplished  power supply security tasks for the Seventeenth Congress of the CPC, the Launch of "Chang'e ¢ñ" Lunar Satellite and the summer (winter) peak of electricity consumption. Failure rate of power grid and equipment dropped to 43.8% and 26.5% respectively, which guaranteed the sufficiency of power supply for economic development and people's daily life. Pre-construction of grid project achieved important progress, with 100% projects meeting standards and all put into production. The corporation gained economic benefits through in depth implementation of conglomerate operation, intensive development, sophisticated management, and standardized construction. Aiming at the need of the country's whole energy strategy and economic and social development, SGCC deeply promoted UHV construction; carefully fulfilled the country,s policy on macro-control and the concept of energy saving and consumption reduction, transmission loss dropped by 0.11% year on year, saving electricity of 2.3 billion KWh. The corporation has actively worked on its social responsibility and further improved the service level; the project of "Power for All" has been progressed rapidly, which made important contribution to the construction of new countryside. Sticking to scientific development, SGCC has improved its innovative ability to a large extent. It has fulfilled the strategy of developing the enterprise with talents and further improved the team's quality.
