State Grid Corporation of China released 2008 Corporate Social Responsibility Report (hereinafter referred to as the Report) in Beijing, Jan. 20, 2009, signified that SGCC has become the first Chinese company releasing social responsibility report for four consecutive years.

The Report has initially used the label of "Global Compact", whose Ten Principles deemed as the most influential social responsibility standards in the world. SGCC has carried out the Principles to support UN Global Compact activities ever since its accession to Global Compact in 2006.

The Report, thick as 108 pages, with 58,000 Chinese characters in total, has systematically disclosed the pursuit value, key activities and achievements of the corporation in terms of social responsibility performance. Mr. Lu Jian, news spokesman of SGCC, explained that this report includes more contents than any previous one. It can give readers an impressive idea about the sense of responsibility, the spirit of selfless devotion, the concern on stakeholders and the theoretical level, so as to help them understand the force and value of responsibility.
