| SASAC published 2008 A-level performance list for central enterprises on July 21. SGCC successfully accomplished four annual business assessment indexes including target profit, return on net assets, current asset turnover and power sales. SGCC obtained significant business performance by overcoming various obstacles in the complicated business environment of 2008. By now SGCC has won A-level central enterprises score in business evaluation for 5 consecutive years. 145 central enterprises, including 32 A level enterprises, are included in the evaluation (or examination) by SASAC this year.
Business evaluation is an innovation in establishing and improving incentive and restraint mechanisms according to the guiding principles of the Sixteenth National Congress. Since the implementation of central enterprises in 2004, 12 enterprises have won A level in the evaluation for 5 consecutive years. Besides implementing annual performance evaluation for executives of central enterprises, SASAC also officially initiated term performance evaluation. An annual and term evaluation system was fully implemented in central enterprises. In the first business evaluation review conference of central enterprises in 2007, SGCC was awarded ¡°enterprises of excellent performance¡±, and ranked No. 4 among 30 central enterprises who won this award.
