SGCC has made great progress in overall corporate social responsibility management. After successful pilot project in Tianjin Electricity Power Corporation in 2008, SGCC held a conference in Wuxi Power Supply Company, Jiangsu Province, to initiate overall social responsibility management pilot project.

In recent years, SGCC has published the first corporate social responsibility report and the first guidelines for corporate social responsibility implementation, taken a leading role in exploring overall corporate social responsibility management. The efforts by SGCC has gained highly recognition from central government leaders, SASAC and SAC.

To enrich overall corporate social responsibility management experience, after successful pilot project in Tianjin Electricity Power Company, SGCC¡¯s top management decided to carry out overall corporate social responsibility management pilot project in Wuxi Power Supply Company, Jiansu Province. It is also reported that SGCC also chose Jiashan Power Supply Company, Zhejiang Province, as county-level pilot project. Through adhering to scientific outlook on development, promoting ¡°two transforms" and implementing SGCC¡¯s Guidelines to implement its corporate social responsibility, SGCC has been promoting the overall integration of CSR concept with corporate operation.

According to the requirements of SGCC, pilot units should focus on 8 tasks including pilot planning, mobilization, media publicity, concept integration, staff training, specific guidelines, assessment and evaluation, and review and summary, and try to provide experience and example for implementing overall corporate social responsibility management in the SGCC in the future.
