The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council organized the working conference on SOE social responsibility on November 3. Huang Shuhe, Vice Chairman of SASAC, attended the meeting and made importance remarks. The conference also announced the winners of Excellent SOE Social Responsibility Performance of the year. SGCC¡¯s program of "promoting pilot projects at the grassroots level and advance social responsibility management" was selected into outstanding sample cases and topped the list.

Since 2005, SGCC has published China's first corporate social responsibility (CSR) report and later the first guide to the implementation of CSR. It took the lead in establishing a systematic CSR leadership system, and exploring an overall CSR management mode among China¡¯s SOEs. SGCC is also an active player in developing national and international CSR standards particularly since last year. The company has launched top-to-bottom CSR pilot programs in Tianjin Electric Power Company, Wuxi Power Supply Company of Jiangsu Province, Jiashan Power Supply Company of Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. The programs explore the CSR connotation, boundary and implementation model, taking into consideration of China's national conditions and the company's own characteristics, with an aim to promote the progress of CSR management.
