China has suffered from droughts since November, especially in South Shandong and Huaibei area. Seeds die of lack of water. Millions of acres of wheat has been severely damaged in Shanxi,Henan and Hebei provinces.

State Grid actively organized its provincial grid companies to take effective measures to ensure agricultural irrigation and drinking water demand.

Up to now, more than 34 thousand employees have been mobilized into 1755 teams to fight against droughts. They go to countryside, with generators, water pumps and other equipment, to set up irrigation lines and open temporary "green channel" for power application with simplified procedure. In full support to fight against droughts, they even provide door-to-door service for farmers' temporary power use application.

In addtion, State Grid has carried out comprehensive rural electrification safety inspection of agriculture power. A great emphasis has been put on irrigation equipment in the countryside. Priorities have been given to repair of agricultural irrigation equipment's power failure to ensure safe and reliable power.

With State Grid's support, a total of 30 billion square meters' farmland has been irrigated, consuming 1.128 TWh power.
