| For recent years, SGCC attaches great importance to enhancing grid transmission capacity and has carried out initial innovation and integrative innovation in five aspects, namely, transmission technology, simulation technology, control technology, technological adaptation and management. By the end of May 2007, grid transmission capacity has been increased by 93010MW.
In early 2005, SGCC formally started a project to enhance transmission capacity and fulfilled its first phase before the advent of 2005 summer peak load, increasing transmission capacity by 16640MW, power supply by 7.1TWh and contributing 59.3 billion RMB to GDP. By the end of April 2007, 1904 measures had been taken in the second and third phases of the project, enhancing grid transmission capacity of all tiers by 72120MW.
The implementation of the project has temporarily solved transmission bottlenecks that have entangled the operation of regional grid for years, further consolidates the foundation for the safe and stable operation of the grid and plays an important role in SGCC's endeavor to address summer peak load. The project includes overcoming the congestion on Northeast grid's 500kV Heilongjiang-Liaoning transmission corridor which increases transmission capacity by 600MW, installing Power System Stabilizer to relevant sensitive units and altering Three Gorges bus-bar to increase transmission capacity from Sichuan-Chongqing power network by 200MW, and fine-tuning the operation of connection lines to enhance transmission capacity on Northeast-North connection lines by 300MW and Central-North connection lines by 300MW.
Initial innovation and technological advance enhance grid technologies and the level of equipments, facilitate upgrading industrial technologies, and fulfill the optimal allocation of grid operators' resources, thus satisfying the society's power demand to the greatest extent and safeguarding the sound development of the economy. |
