Power System Simulation Center

The laboratory is the largest Asian laboratory for power system simulation, equipped with advanced combined digital-analog real time simulation equipment. The equipment integrates the real-time analogous elements with off-line calculation software in power system. Large-scale real time simulation for the electromagnetic and mechanical electric transient state in combined AC- DC power system can be carried out in the equipment. This provides a basic tool for optimizing the design, operation and control in power system.
Research and development of many important projects, such as the DC power transmission system in Tianshenqiao-Guangzhou, longquan-zhengping , Jiangning-Echeng, Interconnected AC power system between north China and center China, between north-east China and north China, TCSC from Yimin to Fentun via 500kV, Ertan, and Dayawan projects, and etc, have been carried in this center. |
Transmission Tower-Pole Testing Station

The testing station is the only base dealt with research, design and test of the real transmission tower-poles in China. It is capable of testing the double-circuit angle towers, dead-end tower and transformation structures of 750kV and below, 1000kV single-circuit suspension towers and its test capability possesses the first position in the world.
The laboratory has completed the tests for more than 300 tower-poles of domestic transmission lines and more than 40 tower-poles of foreign countries, which offers a reliable technical basis for optimized design of the tower-pole structures. The station carried out theoretic and test study on structural design and construction design for the first 330kV, 500kV and 750kV transmission projects in China. |
Transmission Conductor Mechanical Property Laboratory

The laboratory is dealt with test and study on the aeolian vibration of overhead conductor and ground wire, conductor and ground wire fatigue, conductor creep, power characteristic of dampers and appraisal of vibration-proof result, mechanical and electrical properties of spacers, field vibration measurement of large crossing, conductor anti-galloping of overhead lines, optimum configuration of spacers for bundle conductors, conventional mechanical and electrical properties of overhead conductor and ground wire and hardware, etc.
The laboratory has completed the tests of vibration-proof for more than ten projects of large crossing, including Yangtze River crossings at Nanjing Dashengguan, at Wuhu for Long-Zheng line, tests on mechanical properties for conductor and ground wire with hardware of transmission lines at different voltages in China. The laboratory has offered forceful technical assistance and guarantee for construction of transmission lines in China. |
EHV Power Cable Laboratory

The laboratory consists of completed set of test equipment, shield hall and pre-qualification test outdoor yard for EHV cable. Internal size(L*W*H) of the shield hall is 40m*30m*20m and the test yard covers 80m*40m. The shield hall can well meet the requirement of 500kV power cable PD test. In the shield hall, there are three resonant test systems of 800kV/30A, 800kV/6A and 800kV/4A, two sets of de-ion water cable test terminator of 800kV & 350kV and their water conditioner; 600kV standard capacitor; partial discharge (PD) detector, etc. In addition, several power cable conductor inducing heating system and automatic control & measurement system have been developed. An impulse generator of 2800kV is to install. The test ability and scale of this lab reaches to the first degree in the world.
The laboratory can carry out the following research work, such as the research on cable installation technique, operation behavior and detective technique; type test; prequalification test and acceptance test for power cable & accessories. The laboratory has been done the research work for Ertan 500 kV cable imported from France, the test work for Three Gorge left bank 500kV GIS equipment. |
Electric Power System Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory

The EMC Lab which has the full test features is the largest one in the electrical field is equipped with an anechoic chamber for measuring at a distance of 3m/5m, an immunity test lab which is satisfied the requirements of IEC61000 and CISPR publications, and the mobile EMC lab with a 4.3m*1.8m*1.8m shielding cabin.
Covering area of 1000 square meters, the EMC Lab is carried out a lot of research work on EMC problems in power system, it also has the capability for electromagnetic disturbance measurement and immunity test according to the national and IEC standard. For example, the experiment was achieved on the effect of power frequency electric field and radio interference from Multi-circuit 500kV overhead lines spanning the ship lock of Three Gorge power station. |
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Laboratory of Automation Equipment

Automation equipment electromagnetic lab has a standard 3-meters¡¯ electric wave dark room, excellent-performance shielded rooms and internationally advanced EMC testing equipment .It possesses qualifications for making comprehensive EMC test and analysis for all kinds of power automation equipment and any other electronic and electrical equipment according to the top grade requirements stated by relative EMC standards at home and abroad. Therefore, it can provide strong technical support and service for EMC research in power system and resolving EMC problems of power automation equipment.
A lot of researches have been made in the lab on power automation equipment EMC, such as: EMC detecting method of power system, electromagnetic emission control measures and anti-interference measures of power automation equipment. |
