State Grid Released 2017 Corporate Social Responsibility Report
On 5th Feb, State Grid released the 2017 Corporate Social Responsibility Report, which is the 13th Corporate Social Responsibility Report of State Grid and the first in the New Era. The Report showed the willingness, actions and achievements of State Grid in fulfilling its social responsibility, promoting sustainable development and pursuing maximum comprehensive value in an all-round way with new concept and new vision.

In 2017, State Grid actively implemented Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress through sticking to the new direction of the New Era to carry out new missions of corporate social responsibilities and shoulder new tasks.

The Report focused on the core of corporate social responsibility (CSR), analyzed key topics, explained major questions and clarified basic issues. The Report defined 13 key aspects of the fulfillment of CSR, which are: comprehensively strengthening Party building, high-quality development, intrinsic safety, excellence management, innovation-driven growth, quality service, the rejuvenation of rural areas, talent development, mutually-beneficial win-win cooperation, corporate citizen, green development and environmental protection, serving and promoting the ¡°Belt and Road¡± Initiative and transparent operation. The Report has six unique features: Firstly, it highlighted the priorities of fulfilling CSR and set 13 CSR topics based on a framework composed of the intention, practice, performance and commitment of the fulfillment of CSR. Secondly, it proposed practical topics to showcase the actions to fulfill CSR and comprehensively demonstrated the milestone events. Thirdly, it adopted new page design to vividly exhibit the content of the fulfillment of CSR and highlight the content of core performance. Fourthly, it used visualized data to show the performance of CSR through releasing 335 indexes of 13 categories of the company. Fifthly, the alignment with international standards showed State Grid¡¯s commitment to sustainable development. State Grid aligned with domestic and international standards such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Guidance on Social Responsibility Reporting (GB/T36001-2015) so as to ensure the inclusiveness, balance, comprehensiveness and professionalism of the Report. Sixthly, State Grid carefully and dedicatedly fulfilled its commitment to CSR. The Report revealed the performance of State Grid in fulfilling CSR in 2017 and its CSR promise for 2018, as well as the commitment of provincial power companies in 2017 and 2018 in this regard.
